He was out-manoeuvred by the British in his struggle for Indian Independence. Tipu Sultan who was also known as Tipu Sahab and the "Tiger of Mysore" ruled the Mysore Kingdom from 1782 to 1799. He was the son of Hyder Ali (ruler of Mysore). He was also a philosopher, warrior and poet.

For that one Ideal he sacrificed his life and Kingdom. Born in 1750. Tipu succeeded his father Hyder Ali at the close of 1782.
