“There are enough resources for everyone’s need but not

for anybody’s greed”-Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of life is much appreciated all

across the world. His spiritual, non-violent, and peace-promoting acts earned

him the title of Mahatma. His wisdom, like the wisdom of all the great,

venerable souls of mankind is quite relevant in ridding the world of ills that

have almost drastic consequences.

Greed is the most potent evil weakening mankind. But the

wages of greed are hell. How rightly Mahatma Gandhi has alerted the mankind

through:  “There are enough resources for

everyone’s need but not for anybody’s greed.” God Almighty has created

everything so abundant in our world. The stars, the sky, the warmth of the sun,

the water, the air, the oxygen, the food, the fruit, the luxuries, the joys, other

resources and everything else we need to live a happy life; there is no dearth

of anything. We get as much as we require. In spite of such mind-boggling

abundance, man gets tempted to have, possess, and own more. This avarice is the

root of all ills.

All the wars, struggle, cut-throat competition, rat race to have more than others is madness. This does not allow the man to see that there is enough for everyone. So in order to live happily, man must not focus on greed; he must rather focus and endeavour for fulfilling his needs.
