Trees are one of the best things that mother earth has provided us. Trees give us many things. For example, trees provide us shade. Flowers give us good smell. Some climbers give us fruits. Trees like neem are medicinal trees. Butterfly loves to suck nectar from flowers. Birds make their nests on trees. The chirping of the birds in the morning is sweet to the ear. Monkeys love to jump around the trees. We play under a big mango tree. When we are hungry, one of us climbs the mango tree and plucks the sweet mangoes. When we are very tired we even sleep under the shade of this tree. It is the chirping of the birds that wakes us up. Cool breeze soothes our mind when we are sad. We study together sitting under the shade of the mango tree. Trees are indeed a gift from God. It is our duty to protect them.

वृक्ष(झाड) हा मनुष्यजीवणाचा एक अविभाज्य धटक बनला आहे. झाडे आपल्याला फळे-फुले देतात. झाड अपल्याला सावली देते. ऑक्सिजन पुरवते त्याच्याशिवाय आपलं जगणं अशक्य आहे. वृक्षामुळे हरितगृह परिणाम कमी होतो. झाडांपासून मिळणाऱ्या लाकडाचा इमारत बांधणीसाठी उपयोग होतो. झाडाचे अनेक औषधी उपयोग देखील आहेत. जखम झाल्यावर झाडाचा पाला लावता.

परंतु आजकाल वृक्षतोड खूप वाढली आहे. लोक सर्रास झाडांवर कुऱ्हाडी चालवत आहेत. जंगलांचे प्रमाण कमी होत चालले आहे. याला आपण आळा घातला पाहिजे. वृक्षारोपण केले पाहिजे. २१ मार्च हा दिवस जागतिक वनदीन म्हणून साजरा केला जातो. आपणही वैयक्तिक स्तरावर दर वर्षी एक झाड लावलं तर एका गावात एक जंगल तयार होईल.

'झाडे लावा झाडे जगवा' हे धोरण सगळ्यानी स्वीकारावे हीच एक विनंती.
