The state was part of the Uttar Pradesh after the Independence of India and then a separate state was created. The Uttarakhand is basically Himalayan ranges with some plane areas. However, the majority of the areas under this state is covered by the Hill Region. Ample amount of Flora and Fauna are found in Uttarakhand.
