Answer:

Explanation:

Warfare is expensive but peace is priceless

Unquestionably warfare is expensive; peace is indeed priceless. In order to understand the maxim, we will have to look closely at war and peace both. Let’s start with WAR first.

Fighting wars is sheer foolishness. War can only be justified in defending one’s safety, honor, and pride. Only demons fight. Gods stay away from it. Mankind knows the consequences. Death, destruction, and irreparable loss of natural resources are the wages of war. War incurs exorbitant cost in the form of very expensive machines, weapons, ammunition, and human resource.

PEACE is the normal condition in which mankind can endeavour to evolve into better human beings and realize the higher goals of life such as self-realization and self-actualization. Absence of peace means imbalance, unrest, disease, or strife. Peace is a must for prosperity, health, happiness and general well-being of all.  If you want to realize the value of peace, visit war-ridden countries such as Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, etc., you will yourself understand how crucial peace is for happy life.

Those who have seen or experienced the horrors of World Wars and any other war can tell us well the value of peace. Peace is the first and foremost objective each individual, society, community, race, region, nation, and alliance must strive for.  If life is to be enjoyed optimally, it is possible through peace only. Hence, warfare is expensive but peace is priceless.
