Universal metering is considered to be a useful way to reduce the amount of water wasting because it raises people’s understanding and responsibility. Besides, it helps to detect water leakage. 2) Check for leaks in water pipes both inside and outside the house.
3) Do not waste water by taking unnecessary long showers.
4) While brushing your teeth or shaving, turn off the tap when not in use.
5) Rinse your vegetables in a bowl instead of washing them in a running water tap.
6) Water your lawn only when it needs it and not as and when you want to.
7) Plant drought-resistant trees and plants. There are many beautiful trees and plants which thrive with less water.
8) Reuse the water for rinsing vegetables for watering your garden.
9) Use modern efficient irrigation systems.
10) Children love to play under a hose or sprinkler on a hot day. But this practice is wasteful of precious water and should be discouraged.
