Water Conservation Essay

Water is the most valuable resource on the Earth and the essential component of the ecosystem because all living beings need it to support their living process. The development of modern industry, agriculture, and technology leads to the world catastrophe, which results in the pollution of water resources as well as their increased consumption. The goals to preserve water resources are determined by the range of necessities. First of all, it is an obligation of the humanity to save water resources for the future generations. Besides, it helps to reduce the level of used energy because water management consumes a huge amount of electricity. Finally, water is a habitat for the different wildlife representatives. Therefore, the world community tries to prevent water resources from their complete disappearing.

Some steps to conserve:
The first step to protect water is for people to become more economical. If they control how they use water at least while washing dishes or brushing their teeth, they can save huge amounts of water. There are different water-saving technologies, such as low-flow shower heads and toilets, raw water flushing, automatic faucet, and many other smart devices, which were invented specifically for saving water. Universal metering is considered to be a useful way to reduce the amount of water wasting because it raises people’s understanding and responsibility. Besides, it helps to detect water leakage. In order to reduce the usage of water in agriculture, a pan evaporation is used. The useful feature of this device is that it determines the amount of water needed for irrigation. There are also crop correction factors for the delivery of water, such as flood irrigation, overhead irrigation, and drip irrigation.

Apart from water disappearing, the problem of water pollution takes place in the modern world nowadays. Big water areas become insufficient for using because the level of their pollution is unacceptably high. It makes water resources impossible for people to consume, and fishes and plants to live in. To prevent pollution, large plants and factories have to control their emissions and assume measures to provide them with the appropriate equipment, which helps to reduce the emissions.

Consequently, the problem of water pollution and conservation takes a significant place among other environmental issues due to its severity and negative consequences for the mankind and planet in general. There are different ways to prevent water pollution and preserve it by means of wise using of water resources as well as the invention of special technologies. Water conservation is an important mission for the global community to deal with to keep the planet safe for living.

Water Pollution
Nothing is quite as refreshing as a glass of water. On a hot summer day, some ice water really does the trick. On a cold winter day, a nice cup of hot tea will take away the chill. Do you drink coffee in the morning? You need water for that, too!

We take for granted that we have easy access to clean water for drinking, washing dishes and cleaning our clothes, but water isn't always clean. A body of water, such as a lake, stream, river, pond, ocean and even the water underground in the soil, can become polluted when it's contaminated by sewage leaks, agricultural runoff or chemical spills. When water is polluted, it becomes unsafe for human consumption because the water contains dangerous or toxic substances and disease-causing bacteria and organisms.

Pollution may be caused by natural sources or human activities, but regardless of the cause, the result is the same. It can have detrimental effects on aquatic ecosystems as well as the health of those who depend on those sources of water, like us!

Pollution can be difficult to determine because it is not always visible, so scientists use a variety of techniques and tests to measure water quality and the level of contaminants.

Hope it helps

Answer:

Necessity of water conservation

Water is the most precious gift of nature. Water is necessary for life. Water is needed for domestic, agricultural and industrial purposes. There is no resource more precious than water. It is also the most misused and misunderstood resource.

Approximately 73% of the earth is water. But fresh and drinkable water is only about 3%. The remaining 70% is undrinkable salty sea and ocean water. Hence the urgent need to protect our drinking water sources from pollution and also to conserve water in our daily lives. Water conservation is the prevention of water wastage and water scarcity. There are different methods to save water:

1. Rain water harvesting is the best and most suitable method.

2. Prevent dripping of water from taps and showers. Quickly repair leakage from water pipes.

3. Use new low-volume flush toilets. Adopt water-efficient dishes and clothes washing methods.

4. Use an irrigation system which uses water efficiently and prevent wasting.

5. While brushing your teeth or shaving do not waste water. Turn off the tap when not in use.

6. Take shorter showers.

7. The water used for washing vegetable, fruits, and dishes should not be wasted. Reuse for watering garden plants and flowers.

8. Trees retain rain water in the soil and is later available to us as underground water. Plant more trees.

Environmentalists warned that due to the scarcity of water, their will be riots among people of the same locality. Water is essential to sustain life. For the survival mankind and all living things it is necessary to explore every means to prevent pollution of water and wastage of water.
