I’ve been influenced by many people in my life; unfortunately, most of them have not been good influences. However, since I became a Christian, having positive, influential people in my life is normal. Moreover, there is one person, in particular, other than Jesus, who has influenced my life tremendously and continues to do so; his name is Issac Detiz. Deitz’s fulfilling way of life not only influences me to live every day like it’s my last but makes me confident to try new things. His career choices induce me that I can also opt for diverse professions and become successful. He is a miscellaneous director that makes everything from tour promotion videos to movies, and his range of work varies from screwball comedies to solemn drama. He doesn’t just make movies about Judgment Day to scare people into getting saved; he makes movies that people can understand and relate to. He is also a phenomenal writer and uses his own experiences as his muse and doesn’t try to write a “best-seller” just to make some quick cash. Besides being a great writer and director, he is a talented comedian, and he doesn’t have use cheeky jokes to get a lot of laughs. These qualities in his work make me immensely confident that I can choose more than one occupation that I love to do, and I don’t have to surrender to secular demand to be a success. He has tremendous faith, and it stimulates me to strengthen my faith. I regard Deitz as one of my Christian mentors because of his strong devotion to the Lord. He has an extremely humorous, up-beat attitude about everything he does, which is a major motivator for me to smile even though I am having a bad day.
