There is no denying that the future rests on the shoulders of young people

It is the energy and optimism of the youth that drives innovation, entrepreneurship, and the march forward of human rights.

The challenges of the modern world need to be approached with fresh eyes, and fresh ideas, and that is why it is good to see the Joy Bangla Youth Award program -- which concludes today at Savar’s Sheikh Hasina National Youth Development Institute -- give encouragement to young people for doing work that will end up changing our society for the better.

Indeed, the award has already changed the lives of winners of previous years, bringing them respect and recognition, giving them a platform through which they can continue their work, and granting them various internships, brand ambassadorships, and other opportunities at numerous ministries and prestigious organizations like Microsoft.

The award is handed out by Young Bangla, which is a youth platform of Centre for Research and Information (CRI), and this newspaper is proud to be one of the media partners for this year’s awards.

It remains a sad reality, though, that we have still not done quite enough to unleash the potential of the youth population in Bangladesh, which is a very young nation, demographically speaking, with a median age of about 26.

Our government and political process needs to reflect this demographic reality, but right now, youth voices are woefully underrepresented in public life and policy-making.

Hopefully, this will change, and the Joy Bangla Youth Award is a wonderful step in the right direction.

Hope it helps you! if not plz let me know!
