"Fit India movement" is a movement that is started by our honourable prime minister Shri.Narendra Modi ji on 2nd October at Indira Gandhi stadium. This movement aims to encourage people to inculcate physical Activity and sports in their lives.It is known by all persons that,\large\sf\red{Success \: is \: related \: to \: health }and if we want to be succeed in our goals then it is necessary that we are physically and mentally fit .

Now, it is also important to see that Children are the building blocks of our nation and it is very important to spread this awareness program among them. Also, data said that most of children are suffering from Malnutrition and obesity. So ,this program works on a phase "Fit India school" .It is a theme in schools by which awareness is spread among children about "Fitness " and the movement "Fit India" .In this various competitions are held to make it more interesting for children and several tips are given to children making them fit and active. Some schools held cultural and skill competition like essay and slogan writing whereas, other school prefer sports competition like Yoga .

"Just sit down on floor and try to stand;

If you are doing without any help ,you are fit and should maintain your fitness.

If you are not then you need to work making yourself fit " ..

You could try bending over ,so your fingers touch your toes,

or kick your legs up so your knees almost touch your nose.

You could play a game of football - in fact I think you should

and a quick game of tennis would really too good.

Just walking as a fast pace will help you to keep fit "coz you will never stay healthy ...if all you do is sit "

Fit India scheme was inaugurated on National Sports Day, 29th August, by the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi.

Through the dais the Prime Minister had appealed to the citizens to adapt to a physically active schedule. He also stressed on the physical benefits of practicing yoga and that it should be an integral part of everyone’s daily routine.

Mr. Modi reiterated as he has done on several occasions, that technology has made us lazy and physically inactive as a result obesity, diabetes and other ailments are on rise. He also said that many countries have already realized the need to stay fit and have already started programs like this.

Modi added that one has got to be fit in order to be successful; all the successful persons that we see are physically fit and active.

He also thanked the young sports personalities of India, who have won laurels for the nation and said that they are the future representing a more confident, young and fit India.

A committee headed by Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju is formed to take the movement forward. Mr. Rijiju stated that, he is confident that he will be able to take the movement to new heights along with fellow Indians.
