Answer:

hii I think that it helps you

Explanation:

Rains, a natural boon for those who are cultivators of land, a source of water for rivers, and cleaner of all atmospheric impurities, can become a natural catastrophe if received beyond the earth's capacity to absorb it.

This year massive rains raised the water level of all the rivers of Pakistan resulting in floods. The swelling rivers overflowed their banks, breeched the weak embankments, and washed away whatever came in their way. The Sindhu River, or the Indus River as it is sometimes called, began roaring after a lapse of many many years. The new generation had never witnessed the might of this river which, in Sanskrit is called Sindu Sagar meaning:' Big Sea" . The mighty Indus flowed to its full capacity, at an uncontrollable speed, threatening to destroy everything that came in its way. It was in a rage and roaring, creating fear.

Many thousands of acres of land were flooded. Water flowed through hundred of towns and villages, and millions of people were displaced. Loss of property and human lives will only be evaluated eventually after the Indus reaches its destination in the Arabian Sea.

In Sukkur, due to this disaster, the internally displaced people, or IDPs as they are labeled, are camping on road sides, on the banks of the canals, under the open sky, in the scorching heat of the burning sun. Others have been housed in camps established in various educational institutions. These survivors are in dire need of clean drinking water to quench their thirst and avoid dehydration. There are also water- borne diseases resulting form unhygienic living conditions, so these poor souls need doctors and medicines. Their own fields are full of water and it will take months for them to go back and settle in their villages. That means they will not be able to grow their crops or rebuild their house anytime in the near future.

To help these people in distress, we at St. Mary's High School, Sukkur, called an urgent meeting of staff and decided to generate some funds by seeking donations from the staff members and parents of children.

With the generosity of parents and other God-fearing people, we were able to collect a small amount of money, clothes, and rations.
