Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur National Integration Chair, Punjabi University Patiala organised National Webinar on the theme of ''Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur : Socio-Spritual Concerns'' in wake of 400th Birth Anniversary Celebeations of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
Dr Daljit Singh, Head, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur National Integration Chair welcomed the key-note speakers and all the participants in the webinar. While introducing the theme of the webinar, he said that Guru Sahib had set an unprecedented example of martyrdom to save the mankind from the evils of Mughal tyranny and promoted the religious freedom, national integration and cultural heritage of India.
Dr. Jagbir Singh, Former Professor and Head, Department of Punjabi, Delhi University, Delhi, while delivering his keynote address said that the Western Culture has drifted us towards materialism that ultimately resulted into the tendency of social separatism. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's Teaching conveyed the meaning of 'Bairag' with staying away from social evils and to refrain religious intolerance and forced conversions.
Dr. Paramveer Singh, Head, Department of Religious Studies, Punjabi University Patiala presented the vote of thanks at the end of the session and expressed that Guru Sahib's teachings help us to traverse from worldly things towards attaining spiritual enlightenment
