Nowadays, the rate of Diabetes Mellitus occurring in men and women have nearly been trebled. This rate is constantly on the increase due to the modern lifestyle of people.

People are always in lot of work pressure, and sedentary lifestyles and food habits that raise the level of hypertension and blood pressure. The sugar level has also increased and they are not at all aware about their lifestyle patterns. This is even more dangerous for women in Africa(Caribbean sections) and U.K, U.S. regions as diabetes is mostly common in women and elderly people.

People should go or regular exercises and stay away from fast foods, to avoid these kind of problems. They should be under a regular medical check up as well.

Diabetes mellitus is just called diabetes. It is a disease which denotes high blood sugar. This is caused due to not enough production of insulin in body or body cannot effectively use the insulin properly. if it is not treated properly can damage internal organs, nerves, etc.

There are four types of diabetes; Type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, prediabetes and gestational diabetes.Type 1 diabetes occurs due to the reason that immune system attacks the cells in the pancreas.Insulin is made in the pancreas.Type 2 diabetes is caused when body acts resistant to insulin and the blood sugar increases in the body. Prediabetes is the condition in which blood sugar is higher than normal but it is not at all higher as the condition of type 2 diabetes. Gestational diabetes is caused during pregnancy. During pregnancy, in some person, high blood sugar occurs and this blood sugar is called gestational diabetes. This diabetes is caused because placenta blocks the insulin.

Diabetes insipidus is different from diabetes mellitus although it has the same name.

Symptoms: The common symptoms of diabetes are-

  • increased hunger
  • blurry vision
  • loss of weight
  • increased thirst
  • fatigue
  • frequent urination
  • wounds are slow to heal
  • tiredness

Treatment: For treatment of diabetes medicines are taken and insulin is injected to the body if diabetes is in high risk. Dietary changes and exercises help to treat diabetes to an extent.

Prevention:

  • exercise daily
  • Follow healthy diet
  • Eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains etc.
  • Try not to be over weight.

Heart attack

Heart attack is also called myocardial infarction. It is the the disease in which blood will not flow to the heart muscles smoothly. There will be blockage in the blood flow to the heart muscles. Heart attack occurs in a case in which blood clot occurs and it blocks the blood flow to the heart. This causes loss of oxygen in tissues and cells and eventually the person dies.

Symptoms: Symptoms of heart attack includes pain in chest, neck, back, arm etc. Symptom also includes fatigue and lightheadedness. common symptoms include anxiety, chest pressure, difficulty in breathing, cold sweat, dizziness, vomiting, nausea, tightness etc.

Treatment: Treatment include lifestyle changes, lowering cholesterol, removing the blood clot from the blood vessels, cardiac rehabilitation, conducting surgery called coronary artery bypass surgery, etc.
