Today technological advancement is happening at such rapid rate such that the comfort status of our lives has increased by leaps and bounds. But as our lives are getting easier and easier we strive to make it more comfortable with than it is as greed is one of man's characteristic traits and as we get on about this we exploit more and more of mother nature's gifts thereby leading to the degradation of our environment . Along with technological development economic development also plays a role in depleting earth's resource. This is because as we become more technically and economically advance we will have the ability to exploit earth's resources more efficiently. The modern world is characterised by urbanisation and industrialisation. This has meant that more more land is occupied as the above processes take place. This has led to deforestation so as to acquire more land for construction purposes,industrial purposes etc. Thus we can say that the growth of the modern world is a growing threat to the environment which is already the victim of man's greed. But how long this can continue for is not predictable because if we continue the above brutal exploitation of the environment,soon we will be at the mercy of Mother Nature.
