Let at T K temperature and Pressure atmospheric pressure 'n'gram mole of gas occupy V litre. Then

from Boyle's law : V is inversely proportional to 1/P ( n, m, T constant)

from Charle's law: V is directly proportional to T (P, m, n Constant)

from Avogadro's law: V is directly proportional to n (P, T, m constant)

from the rule of joint variation we have V is inversely proportional to nT/P

or, V= RnT/P(R= universal gas constant)

or, PV= nRT

It is known as ideal gas equation
