G stands for Newton's universal gravitational constant whereas g stands for the acceleration due to gravity at a certain point. G=6.67300×10power-11 N.mpower2 Kgpower-2. G is the constant through out space and time. g= 9.8m.spower-2. g is a variable constant. G is a scaler quantity whereas g is a vector quantity.
mg=Gm/rpower2, or g=GM/rpower2 . G is a constant at a given location , which depend on M and r.
