Establish the relationship between speed of sound, its wavelength and frequency.

Let us consider a sound wave travelling with a velocity v, wavelength λ and time period T.

We know,

Speed = Distance × Time

Or v = λ × T

Or v/λ = T

Or 1/T = λ/v

Or f = λ/v, where f is the frequency of the wave.

Hence this is the required relation.
