It is the maximum value or highest value attained in one cycle..
It is denoted by Vm..

RMS value can be stated as the ROOT MEAN SQUARE VALUE which can be calclualted when dissipiation in resistor takes place as heat..
So, the relation between RMS and PEAK value can be given as
Vrms=VM/(square root of 2)
