Hey!

Reframing.
This comes under Optimism and a broader category of Resilience Skills.

Simply put perceiving a given situation In a different way can be very powerful.
Our thoughts and feelings can be a hinderance. I have even found my Self-importance in a given situation a hinderance.

We should make sure that atleast our thoughts and emotions are such that they help us in situations. When we know the situation is difficult, we don't want self-criticism from our Amygdala, we want help.

That help can be got by Optimism and in this case it was REFRAMING. We perceive the situation in a way which makes it manageable even opportunistic.

Is it good thing? Are we not faking it up? Perception is dependent also upon what we desire ,not desire. That's our thing. If we have a difficult situation, we don't go about saying to ourselves that the situation doesn't exist.
Rather we say how we desire and on what we want we want to put our attention on. That's Reframing.
For example, being in the situation without legs feels terrifying.

We can always change our desire or vision of getting handicapped as desirable or undesirable. That is UPTO us.

So, Reframing isn't about making something False but changing our reaction and vision towards a situation.

Hope it helps!
