\Large{\underline{\underline{\bf{Solution :}}}}

↪Length = 20 m

↪Breadth = 16 m

To Find :

We have to find the dimensions of rectangular garden ?

__________________________

Solution :

Let the breadth(B) be a.

So, Length(L) = (a + 4)

We know the formula to find the perimeter of rectangular garden.

\Large{\implies{\boxed{\boxed{\sf{Perimeter = 2(L + B)}}}}}

Now, it is given half perimeter.

So, A.T.Q

Half perimeter = 36 = L + B

________________[Put Values]

\sf{→ 36 = a + (a + 4)} \\ \\ \sf{→ 36 = 2a + 4} \\ \\ \sf{→ 36 - 4 = 2a} \\ \\ \sf{→ 2a = 32} \\ \\ \sf{→ a = \frac{\cancel{32}}{\cancel{2}}} \\ \\ \sf{→ a = 16} \\ \\ \Large{\implies{\boxed{\boxed{\sf{a = 16 \: m}}}}}

\therefore Breadth = a = 16 m

Length = (a + 4) = (16 + 4) = 20 m

Correct Question:

Half the perimeter of a rectangular garden whose length is 4m more than its width is 36m. Find the dimensions of the garden.

Answer:

  • Dimensions of the rectangular garden is 20 m and 16 m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • Half perimeter of Rectangular garden = 36 m
  • Length of garden is 4 m more than it's width.

To Find:

  • Dimensions of garden.

Let, width be 'x'

And, length be 'x + 4'

Now, according to question,

=> Half perimeter = (l + b)

=> 36 = x + 4 + x

=> 36 - 4 = 2x

=> 32 = 2x

=> x = 32/2

=> x = 16

Hence, width of garden = 16 m

And, length of garden = 16 + 4 = 20 m

Hence, dimensions of the rectangular garden is 20 m and 16 m.
