It's a very simple reaction .You just have to boil ethanol in concentrated sulphuric acid and ola….your ethene is prepared ,
Actually this is the most simple dehydration reaction involving alcohols as you don't need to bother which H atom you have to remove while writing the reaction.Oh yes if you are doing this practically then do handle the conc. Sulphuric acid with care……:-)…

First, treat Ethanal with methyl magnesium bromide and then you get

propan-2-ol.

Now propan-2-ol is treated with an oxidising agent to give propanone.
