Potassium acetate....
CuteConfused:
sodium acetate is also an aqueous solution...

This can be done in one step by kolbe reaction or
kolbe electrolysis.
when an aqueous solution of sodium acetate is
electrolysed , ethane is obtained.
2CH3COO(-) -------> C2H6 + 2CO2 + 2e(-)
The acetate ions get decomposed to methyl free
radicals , which then dimerise into molecular ethane , (C2H6)
