"When ethanoic acid (HC2H3O2) reacts with sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3), Sodium acetate (CH₃COONa) and water (H2O) are produced along with the evolution of carbon dioxide gas (CO2).

The balanced chemical equation for the mentioned reaction is given below:  

NaHCO3 + HC2H3O2 = CH₃COONa + H2O + CO2

The above equation is said to be balanced because the number of molecules of the elements involved, before and after the reaction is constant.
