When ethanol is heated at 443k inthe presence of hot concentrated H2SO4 which acts as catalyst in this reaction to produce an unsaturated compound i.e. CH2CH2 (Ethene).

C2H5OH in presence of hot conc.H2SO4 gives CH2CH2(Unsaturated compound).
