Answer: The major product formed depends on the temperature of the reaction.

At 140° Celsius, the product is Diethyl ether.

2C2H5OH → C2H5-O-C2H5 + H2O

At a higher temperature of around 170° Celsius, Ethylene gas is produced.

C2H5OH → C2H4 + H2O.

In both the reactions, conc.H2SO4 acts as a dehydrating agent.
