Ethyl alcohol is better then methyl alcohol since the wood alcohol i.e methyl alcohol is poisonous in nature can not be drinked and it is also ingested. whereas ethyl alcohol i.e grain alcohol which is drinkable . But in fact ethyl alcohol is also dangerous if it is taken in large amount.
