The following conversion can be carried out in two steps: As show in image attached

Step 1: Treat the ethyl bromide with aqueous KOH. Which will from ethanol as a product and KBr as a side product.

Step 2: Reduction of hydroxyl group(-OH) with the help lithium aluminum hydride will give us ethane as desired product.
