We need to find OC

In Triangle OCD:

OD = 3 km

CD = 12 - 8 = 4 km

$H^{2} = P^{2} + B^{2}$

Where,
H = OC = x
P = OD = 3 km
B = CD = 4 km

=》 $x^{2} = 3^{2} + 4^{2}$

=》 $x^{2} = 9 + 16$

=》 $x^{2} = 25$

=》 $x = \sqrt{25}$

=》 $\textbf{ x = 5 kms}$
