Constitutive heterochromatin contains repetitive DNA, and non-repetitive A-T rich main band DNA. Satellite DNA is also localized in the centromeric heterochromatin. ... Euchromatin is known to contain genes which are active, whereas, the genes located in heterochromatic regions are repressed.
