(since, here + and - sign are there, so + , - = - )

 = \frac{ - 1}{2} - \frac{3}{4}

 = \frac{ - 2 - 3}{4}

(also, - and - becomes + )

 = \frac{ - 5}{4}

thus, answer is -5/4
