Question :-

Evaluate :- (2⁻¹ × 5⁻¹)⁻¹ ÷ (5⁻¹)

According to the Exponential laws,

aⁿ × bⁿ = (ab)ⁿ

  • a = 2
  • b = 5

Hence,

=> [(2×5)⁻¹]⁻¹ ÷ (5⁻¹)

=> (10⁻¹)⁻¹ ÷ (5⁻¹)

According to the Exponential law,

(aᵇ)ⁿ = aᵇˣⁿ

  • a = 10 here now

=> 10⁽⁻¹⁾⁽⁻¹⁾  ÷ (5⁻¹)

=> 10¹ ÷ (5⁻¹)

=> 10 ÷ (5⁻¹)

Here, a⁻ᵇ = \dfrac{1}{a^{b} }

  • a here being 5

5^{-1} = \dfrac{1}{5^{1} } => \dfrac{1}{5}

=> 10 ÷ \dfrac{1}{5}

=> 2

Hope it helps!

Happy day!
