( 99 )²

=> ( 100 - 1 )²

  \bold{Used Identity : ( a - b )^{2} = a ^{2}  + b ^{2}  - 2ab}

=> ( 100 )² + ( 1 )² - 2( 100 × 1 )

=> 10000 + 1 - 200

=> 10000 - 199

=> 9801

hey there!!

We can write this equation as

( 100 - 1 )^2

The identity of ( a - b )^2

= a^2 - 2ab + b^2

If we substitute, we get,

= 10000 - 200 + 1

= 9800 + 1

= 9801

hope my answer helps!! : )
