SOLUTION :

Given:

4/cot²30° + 1/sin² 60° - cos² 45°

=  4/(√3)² + 1/(√3/2)² - (1/√2)²

[cot 30° = √3 , sin 60° = √3/2 ,  cos  45° = 1/√2]

= 4 / 3 + 1/ ¾ - 1/2

= 4 / 3 + 1× 4/3  - 1/2

= (4 / 3 + 4/3)  - 1/2

= (4+4)/3 - 1/2

= 8/3 - 1/2

= (8×2 - 1×3)/6

[By taking L.C.M of 3 & 2. L.C.M is 6]

= (16 - 3)/6  = 13/6

4/cot²30° + 1/sin² 60° - cos² 45° = 13/6

Hence, 4/cot²30° + 1/sin² 60° - cos² 45° = 13/6
