(40.5)^{2}

(a + b)^{2} = a^{2} + 2ab + b^{2}

a = 40  

b = 0.5

(40 + 0.5)^{2} = (40)^{2} + 2(40)(0.5) + (0.5)^{2}

= 1600 + 40 + 0.25

= 1640.25
