The rainy season India is known as the monsoon which happens only in the specific months of the year. The two types are monsoon are Northeast and Southwest monsoon .The names are derived according to the direction of the wind.

The most important of these two are southwest monsoons because the rain caused due to this monsoon is high in 50 % of the country from June to September.

This south west monsoon hits west coast , i.e., kerala and north eastern India with very high rainfall about 400cm. From the west coast ,the winds should travel upward towards the remaining parts of India.

The east coast is hit by northeast monsoon between October and February and the cyclone occurrence causes heavy damages every year during this monsoon. There are some regions in India which receives both northeast and southwest monsoon .These are the places which receives highest rainfall in the country.
