evaluate:
 \sin^{2}  60 -  \cos ^{2} 30 +  \tan^{2}  30

sin 60 = √3/2

cos 30= √3/2

tann30 = 1/√3

therefore

 \sin {}^{2} (60)  -   \cos {}^{2} (30)   + tan {}^{2} (30)

 =  \frac{1}{ 3}

sin 60 =√3/2

cos30= √3/2

and tan30 = 1/√3

 \sin {}^{2} (60)   - \cos {}^{2} (30)   + \tan {}^{2} (30)

 =  \frac{1}{3}
