0.98 can be written as (1-0.02)
therefore squaring it we get
1² + 0.02² -2.1.0.02
evaluating that we get 1 + 0.0004 - 0.since 0.0004 is very small it is negligible but for the sake of calculation we can take it as 4/10000 and 0.04 as 4/100 now 4/10000-4/100
4-400/10000= -396/10000=-0.0396
now 1-0.0396
1.0000
-0.0396
And: 0.9704
