Evaluate the following:
Q1. What is the volume of a cube of length 5 metres?
(Volume of a cube = length * length * length)
Q2. The length and breadth of a lawn are 6 m by 5 m. What will be the length of its fence?
Q3. The length,breadth and height of a cuboid are 10 m,5 m and 8 m respectively . What is the volume of the cuboid?
(Volume of a cuboid = length * width * height)
Q4. A man runs around a square garden of length 25 metres. If he runs for a total of 4,000 metres, how many times did he run around the garden?
Solve the following:
Q1. A bell rings every 15 seconds another bell rings every 30 seconds. At 3:00 pm the two bells ring simultaneously. At what time will the bells ring again at the same time?

Answer:

Ques - 1 Length of cube = 5 m

Volume = s x s x s

= 5 m x 5 m x 5 m

= 75 cubic.m

Ques - 2 Length and breadth of the lawn = 6 m and 5 m

Fencing = Perimeter of lawn

= Perimeter = 2 ( l + b )

= 2 ( 6 m + 5 m )

= 2 x 11 m

= 22 m is the length of its fence

Ques - 3 Length = 10 m

Breadth = 5 m

Height = 8 m

Volume of cuboid = l x b x h

= 10 m x 5 m x 8 m

= 400 cubic.m

Ques - 4 Length of garden = 25 m

Perimeter = 4 x s

25 m x 4

100 m

Distance covered by man = 4000 m

Rounds = 4000 m / 100 m

= 40 rounds

Ques - 5 (a)  A bell rings after 15 seconds and another rings after 30 seconds

So, we may conclude that if a bell rings after 15 seconds then another will ring after 15 seconds the first bell rings

So. after 30 seconds both bells ring together

At 3 pm the two bells ring simultaneously....So, the next time would be after 30 seconds...
