Printed books of the past occupy a precious position in the study of history of modern India. They are one of the vital sources because they are the store-houses of a wide knowledge. A detailed trace of the past can be made by the help of the early printed books. Some printed books deal with the history of sports, while some with other topics like history of environment, transportation, science, etc. These help us to know and trace the early techniques and methods (practices). For example, history of science deals with the development of science education in a very early period.
