Given: lim  cosx + sinx / x^2

          x-->∞

To find: Solve the above expression.

Solution:

  • Now we have given:

             lim  cosx + sinx / x^2

           x-->∞

  • Splitting it, we get:

            =   lim   cosx / x^2      +       lim   sinx / x^2

              x-->∞                               x-->∞

  • Considering  cosx / x^2, we have:

            =   lim   cosx / x^2  =  1 / 0 = ∞     ............(i)

             x-->∞

  • Considering sinx / x^2, we have:

           =   lim  ( sinx / x )( 1/x )

             x-->∞

           =   lim  ( sinx / x )  .   lim  (1/x)

             x-->∞                     x-->∞

           = 1 . 1/0 = ∞                                   ..............(ii)

  • So from (i) and (ii), we get:

            lim  cosx + sinx / x^2 = +∞

            x-->∞

Answer:

          So the value of given term is +∞.
