- With a complete and total abolition, France re-abolished slavery in its colonies in 1848. Slavery is any scheme in which property law rules are extended to persons, allowing persons to own, buy and sell other persons as a form of property that is de jure.
- A slave cannot arbitrarily withdraw from such a contract and operates without pay.
