Good Governance is undoubtedly the most important factor contributing to the eradication of poverty and promotes development.People's role is very important.
The political principles that underpin good governance are:
- Participation: Any man or woman should have a voice in policy decisions, either directly or through legitimate institutions that represent their interests. This participation should be built on the freedom of association as well as the ability to participate constructively.
- Transparency: Transparency is built on the free flow of information, processes, institutions and information. These should be adequately accessible to citizens with enough to understand and monitor them information.
- Accountability - decision-makers in government, the private sector, civil society organizations are accountable to the public and stakeholders. This accountability is necessary to citizens.
- Equity - all men and women have the right to have opportunities for them to improve and maintain your wellbeing.
- Rule of Law - legal frameworks should be fair and enforced impartially, particularly the laws on human rights.
- Effectiveness and efficiency - Processes and institutions to meet the needs at the same time make the best use of resources.
Some effective steps to involve participation of people in good governance are-
