−5/4×(8/9+5/7)=(−5/4)×(8/9)+(−5/4)×(5/7)
=(−40/36)−(25/28)
On taking LCM of 36 and 28 we get, 252.
=(−40×7−25×9)/252
=(−280−225)/252
=(−505)/252
−5/4×(8/9+5/7)=−505/252
(ii)
2/7×(1/4−1/2)=(2/7)×(1/4)−(2/7)×(1/2)
=(1/7)×(1/2)−(2/7)×(1/2)
=(1/14)−(2/14)
=(1−2)/14
=−1/14
2/7×(1/4−1/2)=−1/14
