Answer:

Use partial fractions:

(2x-7)/(x^2 -x-2) = (2x-7)/((x + 1)(x - 2)) = A/(x + 1) + B/(x - 2)

2x - 7 = Ax - 2A + Bx + B

A + B = 2, 2A - B = 7

Adding the equations together, 3A = 9 → A = 3

3+B = 2 → B = - 1

∫ (2x-7) dx/(x^2 -x-2) = ∫ (3/(x + 1) - 1/(x - 2)) dx

∫ (3/(x + 1) - 1/(x - 2)) dx = 3*ln(absval(x+1)) - ln(absval(x - 2)) + C
