The Canadian Red Cross Society, a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world, is seeking a Manager, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, for the Disaster Management department. Reporting directly to the National Director, Disaster Management, the incumbent is responsible to manage the ongoing development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of disaster management plans, monitoring mechanisms and evaluation procedures for the Disaster Management program. He/she demonstrates skills and expertise in program evaluation and communication skills to ensure success and growth of the Disaster Management program.

Major Responsibilities

- Support Zones with the implementation of the Disaster Management Capacity and Hazard Assessment Tool, analysis process, consolidate a national report and ensure the integration of the results into the national operational planning cycle;
- Ensure that monitoring and evaluation mechanisms allow for continuous improvement towards program preparedness targets and response goals;
- Ensure that response plans, procedures and standards are integrated with Movement and internal policies, procedures and standards;
- Ensure the development, implementation, maintenance, monitoring and evaluation of disaster management data management processes, procedures and tools / databases in consultation with internal and external stakeholders;
- Manage the development, maintenance, monitoring and evaluation of operational review procedures and tools;
- Manage the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a national exercise program in consultation with internal and external stakeholders;
- Recruit, train, manage, support, mentor and evaluate project and volunteer team members.
