Evalute the following products without actual multiplication. 50 1/2 ×49 1/2

50½ × 49½

= ( 50 + 1/2 )( 50 - 1/2 )

= ( 50 )² - ( 1/2 )²

= 2500 - 1/4

= 2499.75

Or

= 2499 3/4

Therefore ,

50½ × 49½

= 2499.75
