during the process of evaporisation when any liquid evaporates it asorbs an latent heat through surroundings for gaining back its energy which was lost by evaporisation. after gaining its energy it makes the surrounding cool .

Reason why evaporation causes cooling:

The process of conversion of liquid into vapor by providing heat is called as evaporation. Evaporation causes cooling since the  particle of liquid absorbs energy from the surrounding in which they are applied heat to regain energy lost during the process.

They regain lost energy by absorbing the heat from the surrounding makes the surrounding cool and in turn give the entire evaporation system a cooling effect. From the aforesaid explanation it can be understood that evaporation causes cooling.
