Evaporation is a cooling process because when liquid turns to gas, it needs more energy and so it has to take that energy from its surrounding. The energy is in the form of heat and when the energy (heat) leaves with the evaporating liquid; surrounding gets cooler.

evoporation is a cooling process because it requires heat energy , for example if u heat a milk and immediately close the milk pot with a  lid after some time u absorb that u can see water vapours ,why?? Because in that milk the evoporated one wants to get out but we are compressing it so it turns out to be water vapours on the lid..easy peasy ...I hope ths helps u guys
