formulae \: used  \\  {(a - b)}^{2}  =  {a}^{2} - 2 ab +  {b }^{2} \\  =  {a }^{2}  - 2 \times a \times b +  {b}^{2}  \\  \\  {(98)}^{2}  \\  =  {(100 - 2)}^{2}  \\  =  {100}^{2}  - 2 \times 100 \times 2 +  {2}^{2}  \\  = 10000 - 400 + 4 \\  = 10000 - 400 \\  = 9600 \\  = 9600 + 4 \\  = 9604 \\  \\ your \: answer \: is \: 9604 \: for \:  {(98)}^{2}
