Please ensure that in view tab gridlines option must be selected. Explanation: In document if you want to display grids you have to enable them from view tab.

Sometimes it may appear that even after checking the box visible grid, the gridlines are not visible. The reason behind this that the default color of grid is very light and is not distinguishable from the background.
To make the gridlines visible, you need to select a darker colour for gridlines. For this purpose ,
